I’m Jacquelyn Butler, (but you can call me Jacqui!). I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia – moved around a ton for my husband’s work – and now am settled back in my home state – better yet – hometown. But this time, raising my precious family. (PS: when I say my husband’s work, I mean he played in the NFL for 5 years living his dream, and I had the pleasure to be by the love of my life’s side with a front row seat cheering him on. I would say I married my high school sweetheart, but he really is my elementary school sweetheart/best friend/next door neighbor. So when I say I’m back in my home state, we are back in our home state, starting our family, surrounded by our family.
Now, let’s introduce my daughter, Bridget Butler, the real reason why you’re probably here. She’s my heart and soul, my sunshine, my why, my everything. I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but I never knew it would introduce me to my purest purpose in life. Being Bridget’s mom is truly my calling and the biggest blessing. She lights up the world with her smile, laughter, happy spirit, and sweet soul. Raising her has already been the highlight of my life and I cannot wait for everything to come. She is almost 2.5 years old. I have never held onto time tighter, yet have it slip by faster. But I can promise you, I have cherished every moment and milestone.
Now, let’s introduce you to my second daughter, Cara Madeline. She is a true gift from God. She is a birth of bright light and hope, and the truest reminder of all things good. She is as strong as she is sweet. She has the most precious spirit and I couldn’t be more in love or more grateful for her. I just gave birth to this sweet baby girl of mine March 22, 2020 and have been navigating transitioning to a family of four with our girl squad 22 months apart. (Yup, we did the 2 under 2 thing.) Sisters truly are the best friends and it’s been the pleasure of my life to watch the two of them interact with the purest heart eyes for one another, knowing it’s just the beginning for them.
It’s my goal to inspire positivity and wellness through the joys of motherhood. I hope you enjoy following my life with my loves.
a little more about me…
I graduated from The University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Information Sciences. I loved being a journalism major and I knew that was the path I always wanted to go down since I was a little girl. (Although I randomly wanted to be a dolphin trainer for a moment in 7th grade.)
I have had my dream jobs working at NBC in New York City. I worked at the TODAY Show for one year and also was an NBC Page for one year. In addition, I held some awesome internships along the way at NBC in NYC and the NBC affiliate in Atlanta.
I left New York for love (aka ending long distance with Drew) and looking to find a balanced life between love and work. I have still been searching for that balance until now and am really excited to share my passion and love for family, motherhood, journalism, healthy living, positivity, and inspiring others all in one forum!
I truly feel that positivity and excitement is missing from so many who are just looking for a little inspiration. I’m here to help you feel that inspo! I want to inspire you to be your happiest self, live your fullest life, go after your dreams, love on your family, travel the world, and be well.
I created this forum in 2016 when I was having the best time exploring the awe-inspiring state of Arizona, hiking, soaking up the beauty, traveling, visiting lots of local spots, immersing myself in the community, doing community service, spending QT with my hubby, and being the best doggie mommy I could be. But I felt like a piece of me was missing. My work. I worked extremely hard in journalism school and at NBC and want to continue to reach towards my goals. I am so excited I created this passion project and even more excited to have you following along!
xoxo
