Want to know what we do off the field? We lend a helping hand. We are philanthropists.
My mom ingrained in me at a very young age that if you are physically and/or financially fortunate, always give back to those in need. Leave the world a better place than you found it. Lead by example– as we do little acts of kindness and philanthropy people can emulate them. I was raised to constantly volunteer my time towards a charity and people going through a tough time. I am extremely grateful for my mom instilling these values in me as a little girl because community service is a big part of me and who I am today.
I am very thankful for a multitude of blessings in my life. During the holidays, especially Thanksgiving–the holiday of giving thanks, you really take time to count your blessings and feel gratitude. Giving thanks is a very important act.
But, so is giving back.
I know lots of you have very busy schedules and are juggling your own personal bumps in the road. But I greatly encourage you to serve meals at a homeless shelter, spend time with people who need a smiling face, donate money to an organization near and dear to your heart, buy gifts for children this holiday season whose parents can’t afford them, or find your meaningful way to give back to your community.
I hope you all realize how lucky you are each and every day and donate your time to charitable causes year-round. But the holiday season is the perfect place to start ❤️
Wishing you all a grateful heart and a beautiful season of giving ❤️
